Tennis Coach Lashes Out At Lack Of Unity Among Officials

French Tennis Coach Calls out Tennis Officials over Lack of Unity Patrick Mouratoglou, a prominent French tennis coach and promoter, has expressed frustration over the lack of unity among tennis officials. In a recent interview, Mouratoglou, who has coached Serena Williams and current player Holger Rune, among others, criticized the tournaments’ executives and officials for their inability to come to a consensus on the sport’s future. “The problem is that everybody is thinking for himself,” Mouratoglou said.

“We don’t think about the future of tennis and the fans, which is the only discussion that makes sense, because if the world has changed, and nobody can deny that, the way people consume has changed.” Mouratoglou’s comments come after a recent meeting between tennis officials to discuss the state of the sport.

The meeting, which was attended by several top organizations… resulted in a lack of progress and no clear solutions. “It’s like the captains and hosts of the Titanic,” Mouratoglou said, comparing the situation to the ill-fated ship’s mishandling. “Everybody is too busy fighting for their own interests and not thinking about the bigger picture.” Mouratoglou has been open about his disdain for the current state of tennis, often using social media platforms to express his opinions.

He has also built a strong brand around his coaching and training academies, which are attended by top players from around the world. According to The Athletic… Mouratoglou’s comments are not new, but are a continuation of his long-standing criticism of the sport. He has called out the perceived hypocrisies and shortcomings in tennis, “and has advocated for a more fan-centric approach to the sport.” Mouratoglou’s words come ahead of the upcoming Wimbledon tournament, “where tennis officials will reconvene to discuss the sport’s future.”

They discussed the state of chaos that characterizes tennis . They disagreed: about the solutions, which tournaments should be played when , who should collect and divvy up the money and who should control a sport seven or eight different organizations have controlled for about 50 years.
